The Choristers

The Choristers of Chelsea Old Church is a choir of girls and boys, aged 7-14, which sings every week at the church’s 10.00 am Family Service.
The Family Service community is a friendly and welcoming group, and the choristers have the opportunity to work with experienced professional musicians and vocal coaches. The choir offers the chance to experience the benefits of being in an excellent choir in a time-compact format, with most rehearsals taking place on Sundays only.

Choral Scholarships

Chelsea Old Church has begun offering scholarships to all members of the choir in the form of weekly tuition in singing and musicianship. All choristers also take part in the Royal School of Church Music’s Voice for Life awards programme.

The church is fully committed to offering local children the unparalleled opportunity of singing in a robed choir, seeking to:

  • build musical and vocal skills alongside teamwork and self-reliance,
  • create pathways for children to access future opportunities (former members of the choristers have gone on to choirs including St John’s, Cambridge, the Temple Church and the new girls’ choir at St Margaret’s, Westminster),
  • develop and expand the scope of the choristers which will include opportunities to perform with the church’s professional choir and in other prestigious venues, and safeguard the future of the English choral tradition.

There are currently openings for children in Years 3-8.
